This policy explains what personal information FastFuse collects when you visit our website, contact us or book work with us, why we use it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
FastFuse is a domestic and commercial electrician based in Harlow, Essex. We are the “controller” of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used.
You can contact us about anything in this policy by phone on 07483 756890 or by email at our email address.
What information we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, postcode (optional) and the details you type in your message.
When you call, text or email us, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, the address where the work is needed and a description of the problem.
When you book work with us, we also keep the job address, details of the work carried out, any certificates or test reports we issue, and quotes, invoices and payment records.
Please do not send us sensitive information (for example about your health) unless it is needed for the job, such as letting us know that a loss of power affects medical equipment.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and carry out the work you ask for. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract.
- To issue electrical certificates and notify building control where the law requires it (for example, for notifiable electrical work in homes). Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To keep financial and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To deal with questions, complaints or warranty issues about work we have done. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running our business and standing behind our work.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when we need to, with:
- our email and IT providers, which store the messages sent through our website and our email accounts;
- our website hosting provider, which runs this website;
- our accountant, for bookkeeping and tax;
- building control or a competent person scheme, when we have to notify electrical work;
- the police, courts or other authorities, if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards set out in their data protection terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a job: we keep these only for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up questions, then delete them.
- Customer and job records, certificates and invoices: we keep these for as long as we need to meet our tax, legal and insurance obligations and to deal with any later questions about the work, then delete them securely.
Cookies
Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It may use a small number of essential cookies needed for the site to work. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to limit how we use your information;
- object to us using your information;
- ask us to transfer your information to someone else, where this applies.
Some of these rights only apply in certain situations. For example, we may need to keep records we are legally required to hold. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
How to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
